Sgurr an Fheadain and Waterpipe Gully

For all courses you should have the basics appropriate to hillwalking in Scotland, at least including the following:

bulletBoots with soles in good condition
bulletWaterproof jacket and trousers
bulletSpare warm clothing (fleece or sweaters)
bulletHat and gloves
bulletFood and drink
bulletPlastic survival bag
bulletWhistle
bulletRucksack with space for your personal kit, a helmet and harness and possibly some group equipment (as you may be asked to take your turn carrying a rope or other safety gear)

Optional extras include:

bulletCamera
bulletWalking poles (providing you can attach them securely to your rucksack when they are not in use)
bulletCuillin map - Harveys Superwalker is the best available so far

We will provide any technical equipment required (except for winter courses), e.g. helmet (which you can expect to wear for a significant part of most days in the Cuillin), harness, slings, karabiners, ropes etc, or you can bring your own along if you have it (though we reserve the right to inspect this and insist you use ours if we have any doubts about its suitability).
